Primarily a community that was made for farming, the ocean was only used by those that lived in the area for recreational swimming and fun.

Incorporated into the municipality in 1927, it had electricity and street lights, as well as a population of around 1,500 residents by this time. It quickly went up in numbers and more in the coming years that followed and is now a larger, booming area that welcomes one and all to visit the shores of the beaches that are developed, the resorts by the beaches and more.
